Brat Fest is an extremely popular Madison event that is held annually over the Memorial Day weekend. Billed as the World's Largest Brat Fest, Brat Fest is also the largest music festival in Madison, and we run the stages.
Brat Fest will be held Memorial Day Weekend May 27-30th, 2011 from 10am to 9pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday May 30 th, 2011 we will be open from 10am to 6pm. This all takes place on Willow Island, at the Alliant Energy Center.
The Fest has always been a community-based event with all of the proceeds going to benefit the Groups and Charities that help staff the event. Since the event started back in 1983, we have now raised over $800,000, funds that directly benefit the groups that have helped work and staff the event over its 25 years history. 70+ organizations helped serve up the past Memorial Day weekend Brat Fest. About 4,000 people donated over 10,000 hours, all in the sprit of community good will and to help raise money for their own group or charity.
In 2010, we didn't just break the record for the number of brats sold, we shattered our one year charitable donation. Record crowds. 160 hours of live music. And the most important record is the $101,000 that we donated to charities.
In 2008 we had one stage with 25 different performing groups. In 2009 we expanded to two stages, with over 50 different performing groups, sharing 80 hours of free entertainment. Most of these performers are within 3 hours of Madison, with the exceptions being Michelle Chenard (Upper Peninsula), Corrine Chapman (Nashville) and Damon Fowler (Florida).
In 2010, we ran four stages with performers from all across Wisconsin, a number from Minneapolis and Chicago, Nashville was represented, and a very special guest, the rock band Seneca all the way from New Limerick Ireland.
2011 was our biggest and best year ever in terms of music. We had a special guest appearance by WWE superstar Shaemus, sold our 3,000,000 brat and passed the $1,000,000 mark in funds donated to charity. And 2012 promises to be even better.

It is the largest music festival in Madison, and one of the largest in the midwest.

Our 2008 Brat Fest CD was selected the best compilation album at MAMAs (Madison Area Music Awards). If you would like to hear it, click on BROADJAM to experience the outstanding musicianship these groups provide. In 2011, the BratFest CD is coming back assuming we finalize the second sponsor. Thank you to the CAPITAL WEALTH ADVISORY GROUP FOUNDATION for agreeing to be one of the sponsors. We are also in discussion with Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream for this.
