As we stated on the Brat Fest page, we can only accomodate more performers if we think differently, by using sessions with multiple groups on stage at the same time.
Here are some of our thoughts.
FlashBack - Days Of Brat Fest Past - The thought here is to host the reunions of about 4 to 6 Madison Band, bands from the 70s,
80,s on up that have broken up and are doing occasional re-union shows. I think the audience at Brat Fest might really like seeing a
special band re-union show. Bands like Punch, Chaser, Speedtrap,
Bad Wolf, Baby Fa, and there are many others…
RockFest @ BratFest - This has occurred the past two years and is growing a rabid audience. 8-9 bands can perform individually and enmass in a raucous, high-energy jam session to close the night. John Urban hosts this evening.
Brats N Blues - One night will feature and promote the Madison Blues Society, with great blues groups and a blues revue.
Madison's Emerging Music Scene - This session is hosted and performed by high school and college aged musical groups, with two bands moving to their own set on Monday, plus 4 hours of studio time courtesy of Paradyme Productions.
The Milwaukee Music Scene - This gives us an opportunity to let Milwaukee based bands create a special show to showcase their talents too. There is a lot of give-and-take between musicians in Madison and Milwaukee.
Divas, Divas and More Divas - This is a personal favorite. Picture 6-9 incredibly talented divas sharing the stage as soloists, duets, trios and a full out finale. It gives me goose bumps just thinking about it.
JAMZ Jam - Urban music has a public image that is not representative of what it truly is. We want to bring Urban music to mainstream Brat Fest.
Chicago Style Brat Fest - Brat Fest has made its mark in Chicago as more Chicago bands are asking to perform here. We are thinking of a special session where Chicago based bands can share their talents as a unit, allowing us to spotlight even more incredible musicians.
Masters of Guitar - How about a session featuring a set band where we rotate in lead guitarists on a non-stop ride?
Brat Fest Folk Fest - Four hours of folk music and folk singers for a mellow evening of pure enjoyment.
Brat Grass - We have had BlueGrass artists perform at Brat Fest, but now we are considering an entire evening of Blue Grass music. We think the name Brat Grass says it all.
Saturday Night Jazz - We are currently in discussion with the Madison Jazz Society about putting together a special jazz session. We are thinking of a Saturday early evening session, from 4-8, off the island but certainly part of Brat Fest.
These are just a few of the ideas we are considering. What ideas do you have?
